Spreadshirt Adds Organic Shirts to Product Assortment
London, UK -- 16. April 2007 – Good news for the environmentally sensitive: Spreadshirt is now printing organic shirts. Five different shirt styles from Continental Clothing and American Apparel, all made from certified organic cotton have been added to the product assortment for designing, selling and buying. To further financially support the Green movement, Spreadshirt will donate three Euro to Earth Day International for every organic shirt purchased between 16 April and 16 May 2006.
Earth Day is celebrated internationally on 22 April to raise awareness of the environment. Simone Lindemann, who's responsible for the purchase, believes in this new product: "More and more customers have been asking for organic, comfortable clothing. These five new items meet these requirements: they come in many different colours, and are very comfortable." The new shirts are extremely soft and are indistinguishable from other high-quality shirts. Organic cotton is grown internationally certified by the Organic Exchange 100 standards as well as the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture/ National Organic Program). The goal of these standards is to reduce the usage of pesticides and water in cotton production. In working with Earth Day International, Spreadshirt is supporting a renowned non-profit organisation that is active in supporting the environment on the remaining 364 days of the year. According to Thomas Danneman of the German Earth Day Committee, money donated will go to an awareness programme on protecting species from extinction with as well as a special "Energy revolution with renewable energies campaign."
