What are the most common errors when submitting a vector graphic?
- Using lines instead of filled space
A graphic can be used for printing only if all the elements have been converted into curves. These curves make the outline of the design. That means that even dashes and lines should be shown as a filled space between two lines.
Otherwise, we can plot print your design.
Whether all elements have been properly implemented can be seen when you view the graphics path (Adobe Illustrator) or page outline (Corel Draw.) - Graphic has been saved incorrectly
Simply saving pixel graphics in a vector graphic format is not enough. Pixel graphics must be converted into curves. - The fine details
The smallest elements of a graphic (lines or print) must have a diameter of at least 1.5 mm in all areas other than the tips. Very small objects make plotting more difficult and could be easily torn when removing the design from the foil.
You can check whether or not all the design elements are big enough by looking at the graphic at 100%. Use a circle with a diameteter of 1.5 mm as orientation, and follow the contours of the design to see whether they are all big enough.
