How do I create categories for my products and designs?

You can easily create categories for your Classic Spreadshirt Shop to organize products using certain designs or themes, as well as create design categories for your Designer Spreadshirt shop.

Creating Product categories for your Classic Spreadshirt shop

Once the products are added to your shop, follow the steps below to create the categories and add products to the categories.

• Click on the Products Tab and choose the Spreadshirt Shop id in the ‘My Products’ drop down, located in the upper left hand corner.
• Click on ‘Your Categories’ and create the categories for the shop by naming and describing the categories.
• Click back to the ‘Product Information’ tab..
• Select the check box to the left of the product and choose ‘Copy to a Category or Move to a Category’ from the drop down on the bottom of the page. Once you choose Copy or Move, a second drop down box will appear with each category you created so you can choose the category to place the selected products in.

Once you have filled in your categories, you can display the category drop down on your shop by selecting Yes for ‘Show Article Category Selection’ under Shops > Settings. If you want to link to these categories from your own website, then check out this FAQ for coding help.

Creating Design categories for your Designer Spreadshirt Shop

The process for creating design categories is very similar to creating product categories for your Classic Spreadshirt shop. The difference is where you create the categories in the account.

• Click on the Design Tab in your user area.
• Add your designs or borrowed designs from the Design Gallery to your Designer Spreadshirt shop by clicking the ‘Add design to shop’ link to the right of each design.
• Once the designs are added to your shop, then select the designer shop id from the ‘My Designs’ drop down, located in the upper left hand corner.
• You will see the same options, as listed above on the Design page, so you can follow the same process for adding designs to categories for your Designer shop.
