Google Analytics
Visitor numbers, sources of access, conversion rates. Google Analytics does a comprehensive analysis of the stream of visitors in your shop and presents the results with graphic illustrations. You can use those findings on the users' behaviour to make your marketing strategies perfect.
You could also access the efficiency data from your AdWords account with Google Analytics.
How to open a Google Analytics account:
- Go to Google Analytics
-
Type in your email address and password for your Google account and
click on "Sign In".
(Hint: To use Google Analytics, you need a Google Account. If you do not have such an account yet, please click on "Sign up now". Once you have created your Google Account, please go back to step 1. If you already have an AdWords account, you could also sign in from there.) - Click on "Sign Up".
- Type in your Spreadshirt shop URL, e.g. http://SHOP_ID.spreadshirt.net. Type in a name for this account, e.g. T-Shirt-Shop and click on "Continue".
- Type in your contact data and click on "Continue".
- Read the Google Analytics T&Cs. If you confirm these, click on "Yes" and then on "Create new account".
- On the next page, you will get your personal tracking code.
How to integrate the tracking code into your Spreadshirt shop:
You now see a page called “Tracking instructions”. It contains your personal tracking code that you need to copy and paste into the your shop footer or your website footer. The tracking code contains your personal Google account number which is already inserted on the place where xxxx-x is (see below). The whole code looks like this:
<script type="text/javascript">
var gaJsHost = (("https:" == document.location.protocol) ? "https://ssl." : "http://www.");
document.write(unescape("<script src='" + gaJsHost + "google-analytics.com/ga.js'
type='text/javascript'></script>"));
</script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var pageTracker = _gat._getTracker("UA-XXXXXXX-X");
pageTracker._initData();
pageTracker._trackPageview();
</script>
Copy this script and paste it into the footer box in your user area. Paste it above
.
Right now you only have to activate Header & Footer and your screen should look like this:
Done! You have successfully integrated Google Analytics into your shop!
(Please note that it could take up to 24 hours after installing your tracking code until the data appears in your Google Analytics account.)
