Hoodie design rough, patchy and odd smell

So I used spreadshirt awhile ago for a white t-shirt with my business logo on the front and rather large on the back and it came out perfect and didn’t have this odd smell to it.
I recently designed a black hoodie for my boyfriends birthday with a small design on the front and a large one on the back. The designs are very vibrant and not overly detailed. When the hoodie arrived the designs were patchy, rough and smells like PVA glue.

Can anyone offer any advice?

Here is the design on the front.

Hey @User_EU-3fad852c,

It seems that your designs have some halftransparencies and and a gradient into the transparent.
Due to the fact that every colored product gets a white prelayer below the design this white layer will shine through the transparent and halftransparent areas.
It is also this prelayer which causes the light smell, which will dissapear after the first washing.

On white products you wont get those effects as the white prelayer isnt neccessary to print the design.
